EP1: History Background
Hello, my friend, handshake!
The first part of our novel deconstruction would have to be the history and background.
When I was reading volume 1 of the trilogy, especially when it comes to the Earth-Trisolaris Organization, aka the ETO, it feels like Deja Vu.
After some digging, I figured out that the ETO movement should be some fork of the communist movement in some Parallel universe.
Why is that? I'll show you my inference process now.

The first thing to say first, 99% of my source is from Wikipedia, some are from Chinese page, most from English, and a few from Russia, and thanks to the translator, I grasp most of their meaning.  I was trying to balance the positions of all parties, because of the complexity of such a movement. 

That was Declaration 1, and here is Declaration 2:
The reason why I use the diagram instead of the Slides is I wish such kind of knowledge graph can bring as much information density as it can.
As the author mentioned the solar system fell down to a painting, and so will my thoughts.
So much for the declarations.

We all know that the background of this novel is during the Cold War and it's from the Chinese perspective.
So we will review the main significant events.

The Communism movement start a little less than 2 hundred years ago. 
And the Organization of the legal entities is named as 1st international, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
German philosophers donated their theoretical foundation and France provided the spark, the Paris Commune movement.
The French asked a very important question: where does goverment's legitimacy came from?
French revolution pioneer challenged a Certification Authority: ARE YOU SELF-SIGNED?
If you are an IT engineer, you know what I am talking about.
The French got passion, but the German got introspection.
Kant pointed out "Human beings are ends instead of means".
Hegel said a nation is hopeless unless it has people who are concerned about and look up to the stars in space.
Schopenhauer said only those who know the end would understand the start of the book.
And Nietzsche said God is dead, stop whining and be a Superman!
Viva La France! Da Da! Forgive me! I'm not a French speaker.
And there goes Uncle Marx and his partner Engles.
Marx quoted Hegel in the article The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Napoleon, History repeats itself, only the first as tragedy and the second as farce. So what is a farce? Have you seen the last 2 seasons of the Game of Thrones? D.B.Weiss and Benioff? What a coincidence! 
The two big-brains were the writers of Three-Body Problem for Netflix! Woo!!

Let's get back to our story. 
After Uncle Marx's death, Engles formed the Second International.
There aren't too many explosive events during that time.
Only some mild advice for the labor union, for example, an 8-hour workday policy.
That was Li DaZhao, the co-found of the Chinese Communism Party, CCP for short. 
Apparently, he was calling for a strike.
Frankly, CCP or CPC is another side of coin of Christian Church.
Both Church and CCP promised its believer a paradise never can be reached.
They worship idols, they beautified their history and held their righteousness to be permanent.
The Christians sing the hymn and the CCP members sing Red Song.
The Christians religious investigators need to attend the Alpha course, meanwhile, the CCP members were asked to attend the Party lectures.
Christians claimed their salvation was catholic, meaning "fit for all", Marx said his theory is universal.
The Church want your tithing commitment and the CCP want your Party membership dues.
The Church fabricated an anti-Christ and CCP asked his members be aware of foreign hostile forces.
Their zealots did some crazy thing and their armies call themselves crusaders and liberators.
Truth be told, Chinaman Mao had attend the Y.M.C.A in his hometown.
Young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young man, cause you’re in a new town.
There's no need to be unhappy.
Young man, there's a place you can go.
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough.
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find.

I think the lyrics so far would be enough.

One more thing, the song of The Internationale had its own melody.
Previously, the song borrowed the tune of La Marseilliaise.

1 year after the decommissioning of 2nd International, the October Revolution happened in Russia.
Right after the formation of the Soviet Union, Lenin started the 3rd International, and Stalin ended it to calm his World War II alley, Roosevelt and Churchill. 
The political struggle of the Bolsheviks is bloody and crucial.
Ten years after Trotsky's exile, the 4th International was founded in France to compete with Stalin's 3rd International, aka Communism International.
Trotsky is a tragic figure, he died 2 years after the birth of 4th International.
We will cover more of his and his opponent's story later.
For now, all we need to remember is his theory of Permanent Revolution.
The Permanent Revolution's rival is what Stalinism claimed "Socialism in one country".
That is to say, Trotsky believes Socialism should be in "many countries" or even "all countries".
The problem is Stalin is facing a real war, and he needs to restrain himself to earn the trust of the US or the UK.
The 4th International never dissolved after Trotsky's death, but it's facing a serious problem of fragmentation.
That's why in the new millennium, the 5th was brought up in Europe and Latin America, for example, Hugo Chavez.
We'll cover that later.
For now, we'll dig into the post-war situation.
Both Goebbels and Churchill used the word Iron Curtain to describe the Soviet Union, the CCCP, the USSR, or the Warsaw Pact.
It is truly a great metaphor to use Iron Curtain to describe USSR.
Number 1, the Curtain is the separation, it must be admired.
Number 2, the Iron means fireproof, it refers to the Nukes Balance.
The US would have to avoid facing the USSR in war.
In Chinese chess, it's 将帅不见面.
It would have to be a proxy war.
And that's why the war names I'm about to mention are all small countries.
There are tables and pictures to explain the triangle relationship between the USSR, China, and the US. 
There is some common pitfall because USSR and China are all communist parties, they are alley.
The real situation is much more complex than that.
After the foundation of the People's Republic of China, Stalin did congratulate them on that.
But it was until the breakout of the Korean War, the Chinese fast and firm military response to the US Army earned Stalin's trust.
That was triangle 1.
The greatest hate is from the deepest love.
Beijing got nuclear blackmail from Moscow.
That's exactly what our novel is about, we will cover heavily on this part later.
During the Vietnam War, China donates some food and guns without military assistance.
That was triangle 2.
After Mao's death, Deng took office and decided to stand with the US.
The Sino-Viet War lasted for 10 years.
It started with quick occupation and fast retracement in the name of punishment.
But the confrontation period was quite unexpected.
The main reason why Vietnam stood for such a long time is because of the USSR's military support.
And at the same time, the Soviets are in deep trouble with Afgan War, which exhausted the Kremlin. 
China survived but the Soviets fell.
That was triangle 3.
The USA was trying to tame the beast, untouchable Afghanistan in 2001 and it lasts for 20 years.
Let's review the proverb of Clausewitz, war is nothing but a continuation of politics.
Now back to our timeline view.
Perhaps never in all the world leaders' dreams, they can't imagine a man like Khrushchev would be the first secretary of the communist party of the USSR.
He's rebellious, impatient, and bold.
I'm not joking about his hair, I said B-O-L-D.
Domestically, he leads the De-Stalinization Movement.
He transferred Crimea to Ukraine, leaving big trouble for today's world.
Diplomatically, he almost caused World War III in 1962 with the US in the event of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He recalled all the experts and financial support promised by Stalin.
He claimed "We will bury you", which promoted hostility from NATO members.
He roused the global anti-communism movement.
"Better Dead than Red" was a famous quote, you may also find that in the 4th movie of Indiana Jones.
Khrushchev's series of actions provoked Mao, who was paranoid and believed Chinese Khrushchev had taken office everywhere.
In 1964, Brezhnev deposed him.
Not too long, Mao found out that Brezhnev is "Khrushchevism without Khrushchev".
Let me finish Khrushchev with this:
He changed China fundamentally. 

On the US side, JFK was assassinated in 1963 and his vice-president Lyndon Johnson expand Vietnam War heavily in 1964.
The military-industrial complex gonna love it!
In 1964, the most important news would be the 2 national defense weapons.
1st, the missile, DongFeng 2.
2nd, the atomic bomb, Miss Qiu

In 1966, China went through Culture Revolution in the name of Continuous Revolution, trying to eliminate all Soviet Revisionists.
The same year, China formed the Rocket Force, coded Er Pao, which means "make sure the Nuclear Retaliation (the second strike) happens".
Why only the second strike? 
Because Chinese Premiere Zhou had promised "No First Use" in 1964.
In 1967, China tested the first hydrogen bomb.
In our novel, the injustice trial of Ye Wenjie's father, who died in the first chapter, was also in the year 1967.
Soviets 1968

In 1968, the Soviets increased a large number of troops over the Sino-Soviet border, Inner Mongolia, and Xinjiang.
In 1969, China set up Inter Mongolia Production and Construction Corps, which Ye Wenjie had joined.
The same year later, she was rescued and recruited by Yang Weining, his boss, husband, and her father's proud protege. And she took the oath that she will never leave the Red Coast base.
One year later, in 1970, Dong Fang Hong 1 satellite was launched.

In 1987, Red Coast I shut down permanently.
In 1988, Red Coast II formed on a ship, and Earth-Trisolaris Organization was founded.

In 2007, Ye Wenjie attempted to form Red Coast III without success. All the elders die as martyrs. 

Let's back to the reality timeline.
How did USSR fall down?
Ronald Reagan challenged Gorbachev to "tear down this wall" in 1987.
Iron Curtain is down.
The Eastern Bloc nations were free to determine their own internal affairs and the Brezhnev Doctrine was swept into the dustbin of history.
The Color Revolution ruled Eastern Europe.
Children were told the "two legs bad, four legs good" story over and over again.
People were singing, "Go West", "Hey, Jude" and "Wind of Change".
People were watching 007 James Bond, Rambo, and Jack Ryan films.
People were playing "Call of Duty", "Red Alert", etc.
One of the famous scenes was a video conference between Romanov and Ducan.
Romanov's archetype is Stalin and Brezhnev.
Ducan's archetype is Lincon and Reagon.
Some of Westwood's genius ideas will be covered later.

Dubcek called for "Socialism with a human face" in the Prague Spring.
He led the gentle revolution in Czechoslovakia with no blood.
One of his quotes was "If not us, who; if not now, when?".
We will cover some of his stories later.

Eastern Hemisphere calmed down, Western Hemisphere stirred up.
From Che Guevara and Fidel Castro in Cuba to Chavez in Venezuela, the US never stopped worrying about Latino Communism Movement, which Chavez called the 5th International.

Chavez is ambitious, optimistic, and bold.
I need to spell it again, B-O-L-D.
He shaved because of the side-effect of chemotherapy.
It's not funny.
It's a conspiracy, probably.
We'll cover that part later.

Chavez believes himself a Bolivarianist, which means he should reunite Gran Colombia, including Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, and of course,  his Venezuela, just as 200 years ago Simon Bolivar did; he should get away with the US's intervention both militarily and economically.

The protagonist Ray Diaz's archetype in our novel is Hugo Chavez.
What surprised us most is in his later days, Chavez clearly stated that he is a Trotskyist, which is incompatible with Bolivarianism.
Because Trotskyism is Internationalism but Bolivarianism is nationalism.
Unless Gran Colombia is some form of mini-Soviet, he will have to be twisted like what we saw he was.

In George Orwell's Animal Farm, Trotsky's proposal was signified as the windmill, exactly like the Andrew Cross, the Russian patron Saint Andrew.
There are many crosses, Jesus Cross, Andrew Cross, Peter Cross, Nordic Cross, etc.
Why so many versions?
Because there are a lot of forks.
Why so many forks?
Because people are obsessed with their own hermeneutics.
Hermeneutics is the authority.
It decided who is the center, who is the circle; who is the Orthodoxy, and who is the Heresy.
Check out the Andrew Cross on Nestorius, who is known as the earliest heresy by Roman Catholics.

As you may notice the title "Heresy as Hearsay".
Hearsay is a legal jargon, meaning the evidence was not by seeing, but by other people's speaking.
That's how the fork originated.

Stalin wrote a book named History of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolsheviks) in 1935.
He put so much energy into it, trying to "give a rigorous answer to Commissar on the most important questions" "instead of the Bible".
Yeah, 2 Katyusha grandma.
The problem lies in Joseph Stalin believing himself a Moses instead of a Jesus.
He believe he was giving the Torah instead of the Gospel.
In his textbook, in the tone of Genesis, he told every commissar, who accounts for political warfare, that Social Formation should be and will be in 5 phases and you should fight for your Motherland.
He's proud of this brochure. My precious!!

But Trotsky claimed his 5 phases theory is a flaw.
Take the Chinese Revolution for instance, they don't need to experience the Bourgeois Revolution state, it's not the critical path.
Stalin silenced him with an icepick.
Trotsky's Chinese comrade Chen Duxiu criticized Stalin, claiming that the Torah is a flaw.
Chen stepped down as the General Secretary of CCP.
Chen, Trotsky, Saint Nestorius, Saint Andrew, and Chavez are ambitious, twisted, and aggrieved.
Stalin did not believe CCP can compete with KMT, so he was hedging his bets on the Chinese Civil War.
He changed his view until Korean War.
Mao took Stalin's path for a few years, meanwhile arresting Trostskyists.
Then turned to Trotskyism for the Grest Leap and Permanent Revolution.
Chinese people went through a hell march.
Both sides' leaders blamed each other for Leninism Heresy.
We'll cover Lenin in the upcoming episode.
For now, our Chinese so-called Industrial Party is marching to the Cyber Philosopher King, an idea borrowed from Plato, a screenshot borrowed from the movie Wandering Earth.
Disputes lead to more disagreement.

The second part of our novel deconstruction will be about Scientists and their choices. Why some came back to participate new China Socialist Construction? Some of them stay away? One of them fled away?
Ye Wenjie's father, Ye Zhetai is the key to those questions.
The archetype of Ye Zhetai is Ye Qisun, the principal of Tsing Hua University.
Here's a little history on that.
From 1931-1949, Mei Yiqi is the principal.
Mei led Tsing Hua well during the Anti-Japanese War and the Civil War.
Since Mei was not a communist, he decided to set up a twin school in Taiwan. 
The above badge marked with time is "old school" and the below is "new school".
Ironically, old school stand for new China, and new school stand for old China.

Feng Youlan, who is a philosopher scholar, is the interim principal of Tsing Hua.
We'll cover a little story about him later.

Ye Qisun is the first principal of the new era.
He is a founder of theoretical physics, an academician, but above that, a teacher--he is proud of himself for being a physics educator.
Unlike the novel, he never married, not to mention the kids.
Like the novel, he did have star proteges like Yang Weining.
His students and students' students had formed the backbone of the Two Bombs, One Satellite Project.
All the personnel colored orange had been awarded the national defense medal.
Hua Luogeng and Qian Xuesen are close friends, they proposed setting up a new school to focus on the National Defense high-tech only, that is, USTC--University of Science and Technology of China 中科大.
We'll cover that later.

Qian Xuesen, Qian Weichang, and Lin Jiaqiao are students of von Karman who is the authority on aerodynamics.

Qian Sanqiang, Zhu Guangya, Deng Jiaxian, Peng Huanwu, and Wang Ganchang are students of Ye Qisun.
Zhou Guangzhao is a student of Peng Huanwu, and Chen Kaijia is a student of Wang Ganchang.
Both Hu Ning and Zhang Zongsui were students of Ye Qisun and studied from Wolfgang Pauli.
The strong theoretical background of both guaranteed their effective teaching to Yu Min, who is the most irreplaceable leading scientist of H-Bomb.
In the circle of National Defense, Yu Min is the core of the core, the father of the Chinese H-Bomb.


Zhao Jiuzhang, Tu ShouE, and Qian Ji accounted for the 1st Satellite--东方红, literally "The East is Red".
Chen Fangyun and Wang Daheng account for the laser telemetry technology.

We'll cover more about Lin Jiaqiao.
Ren Zhigong is his teacher and friend.
Lin Jiaqiao is a transboundary genius, he solved the turbulence problem Heisenberg didn't solve; he brought about the Density Wave Theory to explain the spiral arm structure of spiral galaxies; he directed students to solve the Protein Folding because he believe turbulence, spiral, and folding are ruled by the same math law.

Academically, Zhao Zhongyao, Wu Youxun, Peng Huanwu, and Wang Ganchang are the 4 big brothers and teachers for the juniors.

In particular, Wu Youxun contributed a lot to his professor and boss Arther Compton, the 1927 Nobel Prize winner.
3 years later, in 1930, Zhao Zhongyao found the Positron--the positive electron, which was stolen by his classmate Carl Anderson, who is the 1936 Nobel Prize winner.
The most tragic figure was Wang Ganchang, who missed the Nobel Prize three times--1932, 1942, and 1959.
The three of them all came back to Tsing Hua to see what they can do to help the frontier of the Anti-Japan War.
Let's ponder for a moment is it true that science is irrelevant to politics?
The gentleman beside Einstein was Arthur Compton, the 1927 Nobel Prize winner for Compton Effect, to which Wu Youxun had contributed a lot.

The Chosen People, the Caucasian male, except for Madam Curie.

Yang Zhenning and Li Zhendao won the 1957 Nobel Prize for Parity Violation.
They both learned from Wu Dayou at Tsing Hua and Fermi at UChicago.
Unfortunately, their friendship never lasted too long.
They disputed a lot of important issues, one of which is the Beijing Electron Positron Collider, where Yang Dong dies of the confusion of wild collision results.
She questioned if physics existed or not.

Yang and Li are the Awaken hackers of the Matrix, yet to reconcile on the first author.

During the Culture Revolution, they contact their respective old friend.
Yang Zhenning and Deng Jiaxian's friendship spanned two generations.
Li Zhendao and Zhu Guangya were selected by Wu Dayou and approved by Ye Qisun for study abroad after the surrender of Japan.

Although Zhu Guangya and Deng Jiaxian did a lot of coordination work, the most breakthrough part was done by Yu Min, who had been covered for 3 decades due to confidentiality.
Both Qian Weichang and Zhu Guangya's administrative level had reached the deputy national leader.

Let's back to Ye Qisun his excellency.
In today's view, his administrative level should have reached the deputy minister tier.
Ye graduated from Tsing Hua and went to American University UChicago, and Harvard, for advanced study. 
Ye joined Tsing Hua as a professor in 1925, became the principal of Tsing Hua in 1949, and transferred to the PKU during the Movement of Higher Education Reorganisation in 1952.
This movement is about:
1, Reform or Remove the Christian University
2, Adopt the Soviet-style thoroughly
3, Split the giants and transfer to the midget
It sounds like the Anti-Monopoly Law Enforcement Phase.
Ye Qisun is merely a drop in the bucket.
Another important figure transferred was Jin Yuelin, who will be covered later.

The de facto leader of Tsing Hua in 1967 is a student leader.
The plot of our novel states Ye Zhetai was beaten to death on the Tsing Hua campus would have to be fictional.
The reason why the author narrated this could be Liu was trying to shape an antihero character, someone like Cao Cao or Winter Soldier.

Ye Qisun passes away 10 years after 1967, plus he does not have a family.
As for the debate with so-called bourgeois academic authority, most masters would have to get through it with no exception, because the Culture Revolution is "Soul-touching"--no confession, no heaven.

If there had to be a sin, it was his unsuppressed father-son affection for his student Xiong Dazhen.
If the anti-Japan war was not breakout, Xiong would be study abroad like others.
Before joining the Eighth Route Army commanded by the Chinese Communist Party, Xiong knew Ye for 7 years and was an assistant for 4 years.

But it could also be a "共赴国难", meaning "if not now, when? if not me, who?".
He did a great job as a weapon expert.
The old movie Mine Warfare shot a few decades ago, was based on Xiong's service experience.
He made various kinds of mines and taught undereducated villagers how to deploy those explosive weapons.
The Mine Warfare strategy greatly increased the governance cost of the Japanese Army.
One year after his joining, he was accused, arrested, and executed. 
The cause of this misjudged case is some untenable evidence that Xiong might be the KMT Central Club spy.
It was until 86, Hu Yaobang overthrow his misjudged case.
We'll cover him in a while.
One year after, Ye Qisun's case was resolved too.
That reminds us of the grievance of Oppenheimer, the Father of the A-Bomb, who was persecuted during the McCarthy Era because of his Left-Winger position.

Among all the titles, Ye's favorite is educator.
Enlightenment to the alive.
No defamation to the dead.
If there had to be a person who shall be called his Apostle, it would have to be Li Zhengdao.
The scholarship he set had helped a little less than one thousand undergraduates to study in the US between 79 and 89.
Li's noble act was inherited from Ye's noble spirit.
R.I.P Master Ye.
May Professor Li have a long and healthy life.
A few years ago, when I was watching a documentary, the School of Athens jumped into my eyes.
Master Ye was Chinese Socret, whose successors Plato and Aristotle were in the middle, under the spotlight.
Raffaello imagined Socret was still lecturing others while the painter was taking the most important moment of the School of Athens.
So does Liu Cixin.
At the beginning of our novel, Master Ye was still lecturing about modern physics while he was facing his last moment.
We'll cover that script later.
In double 11, 1989, the founders, such as Zhou Peiyuan, Yan Jici, Qian Weichang, and Zhou Guangzhao, gathered and participated in the Science for Peace Conference.
One of the songs is named Life and Death, the Bitter Love with My Republic.
The lyrics go like this:

As the miserable wind and rain over my body
I can not turn my back to my Motherland
When the rest of the world smiles kindly at you again
The reflection of your tears shows my eyes

So who turned his back to his Motherland?
Why do the rest of the world stop goodwill release?

It all starts with the documentary, filmed in 1988.
The name can be translated as the Yellow Civilization is doomed, the Yellow Race is inferior, and the ongoing Economy Reform is a dead end.
The solution the authors provide is 

Go West, Life is peaceful there
Go West, Lots of open air

In Deng's Words, they were calling for bourgeois liberalization and color-changing.

Sakharov, the Father of the Soviets' H-Bomb, is seen as a Humanist during Brezhnev Stagnation.
Perhaps that kind of sense of mission provoked Fang Lizhi, the vice principal of the USTC, to become a dissident, the Red version of Heresy.
The journalist of The Atlantic titled Fang "The Sakharov in China", accumulated the potential energy of his exile.
The tipping point is his egoistic flee to the US embassy in the name of Political Asylum, arranged by Perry Link.

Did Chinese Sakharov win any Nobel Peace Prize or Sakharov Prize, set by the European Parliament in 1988, for Freedom of Thought?

Why Fang was not accepted by those Prize committees?
According to Saint Pope John Paul II, "counting on her union with the crucified Christ for the strength to voluntarily accept and love the suffering as an authentic path to sainthood".
I doubt if Professor Fang understood Pope's preach, that is, suffering is the authentic path to sainthood.

On 31 October 1992, Pope John Paul II acknowledged that the Church had erred in condemning Galileo for asserting that the Earth revolves around the Sun. 
John Paul said the theologians who condemned Galileo did not recognize the formal distinction between the Bible and its interpretation.

EP3: Narrative Structure
Hello! My friend! Handshake!

In this episode, we will cover the narrative structure of our novel.
We will dig into some specific plots and reverse engineer Liu Cixin's protagonist archetype design.
What do the protagonists' names refer to?
Can we find those names' Western counterparts for better understanding?

The trilogy is divided into three books: 1, setup; 2, confrontation; 3, resolution.
The first book is named The Three-Body Problem, which brought the crisis into our vision.
The second book is named The Dark Forest, which pushed the suspense to a climax.
The third book is named Death's End, which resolved all questions and brought us to the beginning of everything.

The first book's narrative technique is multi-thread, non-linear.
The second book looks like a typical Hero's Journey structure, proposed by Carl Jung and optimized by Joseph Campbell.
And the third book followed the chronicle, deployed a play within our Play, and through the wormhole to back to the origin.

The first book's core character is Ye Wenjie, an Anti-Hero somewhat like Luc Besson's movie Lucy.
Mr. Luc's so narcissistic he embedded his name in the movie.
Ye's Chinese name means the disaster of cultures or civilizations.
Lucy is the feminized form of Lucifer, who is a tragic fallen angel.

The second book's core character is Luo Ji, a combination of Russell and Jin Yuelin, as both Professor was majoring in Logic.

The third book's core character is Chen Xin, whose Chinese name could be interpreted as "the wrongdoing was deliberate" or "she could have been a real savior".
Her Western counterpart could be the controversial name, Mary Magdalene. 
We will cover them one by one.

The Gospel of Thomas is an extra-canonical saying gospel.
We'll cover some of the controversial issues later.

We won't spend too much time on Ye Wenjie, as Tencent did a great cinematization job, whereas Bilibili did a poor job on that.
The biggest issue in Bilibili's adaptation lies in the creators never analyzing and comprehending the soul of Luo Ji.

As we discussed earlier, Luo Ji's archetype should be a combination of Bertrand Russell and Jin Yuelin, and here's why.
The farmer hypothesis is Russell's Turkey paradox, which is a challenge to inductionism.
On the contrary, Euclidean geometry is the masterpiece of deductionism. 
We can deduct a lot of counterintuitive conclusions, using and only using the "Five Common Notions" and "Five Axioms".

On the zodiac, there are 12 circles, which stand for 12 constellations.
Each constellation consists of different stars, the literal meaning of those leading characters.

The 12 o'clock, Pices House, Mortal.
It means the hero just wants to be an ordinary person. The shots include a sex partner's face and a leg tattoo, claiming "You only live once".

The 1 o'clock, Aries House, Calling.
It means the hero vaguely heard the bugle and attempted to pull himself together. In Tencent's series, only the Tsing Hua badge was filmed.

The 2 o'clock, Taurus House, Refusal.
It means the hero's regret and trying to say NO to fate. The shot show Luo Ji when he found himself in the position of Pinocchio Paradox. Consider this, if a liar claimed he was lying, is the liar lying now? If he's telling the truth, then he's lying, whereas if he's lying, he actually is telling the truth. The wallfacer plot is something like the Pinocchio Paradox.

The 3 o'clock, Gemini House, Alliance.
For example, in the Lord of the Rings, Frodo got Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimli, etc. to escort him. Liu Cixin created 3 other wallfacers to keep Luo Ji accompany. In China, the game Red Alert II held a very special historical status back to the beginning of the new millennium. 
Tyler is an ex-Secretary of Defense in the US and his idea is the ball-lightning, which is consisted of the Allied's superweapon.
Ray Diaz's archetype is Chavez, which had been covered previously, and his idea was nuclear, which is also consistent with the game setting.
Bill Hines's archetype is a little bit tricky. I want to nominate John Lennon, not only because his wife is as bitchy as John's wife, but also because the "mental seal" is close to "Imagine".

Yes, I'm trying to say, Hines's idea that the soldier's mind can be controlled was inspired by Yuri's superweapon.
Though Yuri's face looks like Lenin, the archetype is Stalin's personal advisor--Wolf Messing, a Polish Jew.
As for Westwood's malicious ending of Yuri, the brain only, Liu Cixin was toasting us with Yu Tianmin's interstellar journey.
The Westwoods Cold War game deeply reflects the two most important concepts from Ye Wenjie's mouth: the chains of suspicion and the technological explosion.

The 4 o'clock, Cancer House, Deviation
It means the hero is off course temporarily.
Bilibili made Luo Ji smoke a cigarette.
Compared with the latter adaptation, smoking is much more faithful to the original book.
During a BBC interview in 1959, Russell mentioned his smoking habit as follows.

No more story cover for him, just amusement that reminds me:
Great minds think alike, the great men look alike, sometimes.
Russell mentioned Red Riding Hood, which also is used by Evens to test if Trisolarian can understand the meaning of deception.
Russell believed there were 3 most important conditions if the sum of all society's happiness shall grow.
No.1 the world government, that's PDC.
No.2 the balance of economic development, which is from bad to worse.
No.3 the stationary population.
The Trisolarian did release a population control policy, which is the stereotype of the Rome Club's cliche--The Limits to Growth.
The Chinese version is developed by Ma Yinchu.

Some American performance artists built a group of Guidestones to "guild" the world to keep a 500 million population.
In the third book of our novel, Trisolarian kept Terran's 50 million population in Australia, which is a little too harsher to hear.

The 5 o'clock, Leo House, Cave
It should have been a place for deep thinking, but the Bilibili's creators were so vulgar and made the audience doubt their life, for instance--are we watching the Korean Drama?
Please bear with me, although nowadays Chinese scriptwriter's vulgarization is getting worse, Tencent's writer is distinguished from the rest. 

The 6 o'clock, Virgo House, Love
This is the essential part, we'll leave the best for the last.

The 7 o'clock, Libra House, Ordeal
The ordeal is an ancient test of guilt by the severity of pain.
Luo Ji saw his companion commit suicide and get serious about the wallfacing cause.

The 8 o'clock, Scorpio House, Mediate
Falling into an ice lake is a unique experience.
Luo Ji meditated in freezing water for a while and get inspired.
This could be a parody of Russell's airplane incident.

The 9 o'clock, Sagittarius House, Crucifixion
Luo Ji got the virus from ETO's gene missiles and hibernate.
Everybody was waiting for his second coming, while he was waiting for a certain stellar's devastating light.
The crucifixion archetype should be Hugo Chavez's cancer cause.

The 10 o'clock, Capricornus House, Resurrection
Luo Ji was awaked after 200 years and informed the Trisolarian was unarmed and unharmful, hence the Wallfacing Project had been suspended indefinitely.
Great Ravine Memorial marked:
MAKE TIME FOR CIVILIZATION, FOR CIVILIZATION WON'T MAKE TIME.
Luo Ji didn't appreciate the goodwill interpretation.
But he was a civilian.

The 11 o'clock, Aquarius House, Excalibur
Face-off for the Trisolirians.
Luo Ji realized that the real deterrence is Mutually Assured Destruction, MAD for short.
He metamorphized from a Wallfacer to a Swordholder.
The name of the sword is Excalibur.
The reenactment of The Return of The King, except he's not a king, but a constitutional dictator, just like Caesar, Lincon, Hitler, and Roosevelt.
But that was for the third book, we'll skip it for now.

Alright, let's back to Virgo House, the love.
Bilibili's scriptwriter and other creators should make a deep confession, or they will be swept into the dustbin of our market.
They arranged for the 2 lovers to fall in love, sitting on a digger and watching the sunset.
For your information, digger is a meme connected with anything but love in the Chinese circle.
Kitsch is a loanword from German, it means naive imitation, overly eccentric, and banal taste.
The only benefit of such a scene design is to help people to find the right word to describe and build their vocabulary.
The love between Luo Ji and Zhuang Yan's archetype is the strong affection between Jin Yuelin and Lin Huiyin, who already married Liang Sicheng.
Clue 1: Luo Ji's goddess criterion is majoring in fine arts and can not reach a doctorate degree, which Lin fits.
Clue 2: Lin Huiyin used to write a romantic poem mentioning the name Zhuang Yan, although homophonic.
Zhuang Yan is a loanword from Budanism, it means pray solemnly.
The picture shot was in 1933, right after the breakout of the Anti-Japan War. Accompanied by her scholar husband, Lin was doing her cultural documental work.

Professor Jin met his friend and colleague in Europe and cried poor mouth. After Professor Zhao's generous lending, he continued with an extra trip to Italy.
For one, he's sociable, for two, he's seizing the day, or in Latin, Carpe Diem.

No.3:
Master Feng Youlan wrote in his funeral oration that, although Professor Jin expertized in Western philosophy, his demeanor is quite like ancient celebrity Confucian scholar Ji Kang.
The rest of the comments are out of etiquette. 
The real key is the name, Ji Kang.
Historically speaking, Ji Kang was a talented, handsome gentleman, who died of a colleague's jealousy.
Religiously speaking, Ji Kang was a legendary icon and was believed a celestial being in Taoism.

This is Jin Yuelin.

Back to Russell's Journey.
In an interview in 1959, he mentioned that Marx had influenced the World Revolution fundamentally and he didn't believe Democracy would work for China.
Let's take a closer look at Junior Mao Zedong's perspective.

Before we continue with Chairman Mao's Korean War mobilization speech, I'd like to discuss his defamation issue abroad and domestically.

In this episode, we will cover the 3rd book, Death's End. We'll cover some controversial and challenging questions, such as What is a woman? What is the purpose of the Fall of Constantinople plot? What are the prerequisites to conquer another civilization?

So the third book's narrative structure is like a wormhole, which means at the end of the book, our universe was rebooted and back to the start.

The third book's core character is Chen Xin, whose Chinese name could be interpreted as "the wrongdoing was deliberate" or "she could have been a real savior", which made her Western counterpart could be the controversial name, Mary Magdalene. 

In Andrew Webber's rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar", Mary is portrayed as a reformed prostitute:
“I don't know how to love him...He's just a man, and I've had so many men before...I want him so. I love him so.”
That makes the absolute majority of Calvinists, at least the majority of Calvinists, disgusted about Mary Magdalene's sluttish face in popular culture.
Why is that?

"Sometimes I think, YOU CHINESE are not worthy of my endeavor".

Claire Underwood, the archetype of Hillary, killed her husband to win the game of the throne.
In the final season of House of Cards, she invited her rival to meet her all-women new cabinet, which is a gamble against her potential impeachment.

Sin 7, Lust
Don Juanism or Don Juan syndrome is a non-clinical term for the desire, in a man, to have sex with many different female partners. The name derives from the Don Juan of opera and fiction.

Before we move to the next nugget, I'd like to spend some time criticizing Liu Yukun, Kevin Liu's translation work.
He was not faithful to the critical plot.
The Fall of Constantinople is a rhetoric widely used in Chinese traditional realistic novels.

Not only that, Clavius and Galileo Galilei often shared correspondence during his professing career at the Roman College, discussing proofs and theories.

The bad news is Ricci did not translate the Taoism classic book.
If we take a loose analogy from the modern degree system, Ricci can obtain a Master's Degree in both Taoism and Buddhism.
Ricci understood the 64 Gua, 24 Jieqi, and 5 Elements very easily as they are nothing but the Chinese version of cosmology, which he's already perfected.
What challenged his consciousness is the Chinese version of geography.

The triple Guan's official name is Sky, Underworld, and Waters, which exactly corresponds to the brother of three--Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon.

On the day of Uranus, the sun reaches the solstice point and the day will be longer day by day.

In the first book, Once Upon a Time on Earth, the ETO designed an MMORPG to initiate a Cyber Mission, which is brilliant!
That game obviously learns from the stand-alone game Age of Empires and the Online game Second Life.
The boss of the game, due to a lack of good material, I borrowed from Zuckerberg's image.
The objective of the game is to find a predictable calendar within 3-Body Chaotic systems.
The intention of the game is a retelling of the Apocalypse, and it basically was telling all gamers that fate is undeniable.
Although the timeline is in Chaos, the stories are worthy of ruminating.

The first level is the Chinese Warring States period and the main characters are Zhou King, the project stakeholder, Fu Xi, the failed project manager, and Ji Chang, another failed project manager.
Their project methodology was begging to the occultism--Ba Gua, an ancient Chinese predictive technique.

The second level is the Chinese East Han period and the main characters are Confucius and Mozi.

第一，原著中并未提及叶文洁如何被彼时的司法制度制裁。
其实，既然已经出了这么大的事，按照普通老百姓的观点来说，肯定是一个死，没啥好评价的。
但是，站在法学角度，还是应该将罪与罚进行综合的评论，既有普法的意味，又给历史一个交代。

第二，腾讯版中，叶文洁以危害人类罪被判处无期，非常不严谨。
这部分需要稍微展开说一下。
危害人类罪，并非中国现行刑法的罪名，而是在国际公法的一个条约《罗马规约》中，第七条的一个大罪。
但问题是，因管辖权，执法权，解释权等相关问题，中国并未加入《罗马规约》。
而中国对于国际公法的适用原则是，从急则转化适用，从缓则先立法后纳入。
以现实的时间线2008年来说，只能是假设罪名被转化过了，坐实了。
但当我们打开《罗马规约》文本的时候才发现，其第七条根本无法客观公正的评价叶文洁的所作所为。
反而第六条第三款，可以客观公正的评价：
故意使该团体处于某种生活状态下，毁灭其全部或局部的生命。
危害人类罪是说，施暴者人性泯灭，侧重点在暴力的形式。
灭绝种族罪这五款是对受暴者被消灭的这些形式的列举。
国际公法比较好的一点是，它没有兜底条款，其他相当的情形。
所以腾讯这一版对叶文洁的罪责评价是一个败笔。

第三，从刑罚论角度出发，其实可以直接给个死缓，毕竟坏事儿干的实在是可以说罄竹难书了。
法律尊严来说，必然已经触及死刑档，但具备重大立功可能性，暂缓执行。
关于死刑存废问题，这里从历史角度多说几句。
废死问题，不应该与发达国家接轨，应该以史为鉴，该怎么办怎么办。
中华法系一般来说是：
开国体恤百姓，少杀慎杀，积累劳动力和民心。
王朝行至盛世，该罚罚，该杀杀。
行将就木之时，乱世用重典。
死法上来说，斩刑对应于枪决，绞刑对应于注射，一刚一柔。
大明律认为，恶性案件如果案情无异议应该“斩立决”，否则先压监，秋后问斩，故称“斩监候“。
毛主席在1951年，明鉴斩监候，御批死缓，慎杀以明德。
但从统计来看，斩监候九成问斩，而死缓九成能活。
如果真要以史为鉴，要放宽死缓标准，上一档和下一档，按照比例划入倒数第二档，执行标准上降低至最多五成能活。
一句话总结就是，废死问题上，我们应该有”反者道之动“的思维。
当然这五成里肯定不涉及叶文洁，她太重要了，就算在里面故意犯事儿，那也肯定得找个理由特赦出来。
比如四人帮，太该死反而不能让他死。
这里主要是稍微谈一下，这股太平洋西岸的妖风。

第四，关于汉奸，人奸和三奸的罪与罚。
腾讯版三体，技术上稍有瑕疵，因未加入《罗马规约》，理当以国内法论处，而且，就判处刑罚而言，不应该是无期，而应该是死缓。
瑕不掩瑜，至少明确了“留丫狗命”的观念。
在原著中，叶的判决，虽然没有明确提及，但本质上来说，对1379号监听员的那几句简洁明快的判词，就是对叶文洁的最终评价。
而叶文洁以虚拟现实的方式，出席了对自己的审判。
这个改编还是非常好的，点个赞！
但就这个”留你狗命“的主题，其实在《满江红》中也被提及，但是被大爷大妈的朴素价值观批判的比较厉害。

Princeps acknowledged it and planned to set up an information censorship mechanism, especially the culture information.
Sound familiar? Isn't it the Great Firewall?

Officer Shi's exclamation reminds me of a speech, it was Jeffery Sachs at Gate Center last year.
Sachs received BA, MA, and Ph.D. in economics from Harvard almost half a century ago.

Professor Sachs confirmed the US has a neurotic fear of China.
He said the US was at the end of the global leadership period.
He said the US disrespected professors, no more decent. I just can't help thinking about Ye Qisun in our novel, the 1st chapter of the 1st book.
He said the Corona Virus should come out of the US Lab and he spoke as a Chairman of the Lancet Covid Commission.
He said the Ukraine war could be avoided if it's not because of NATO's aggressive attitude toward Russia.
He said the US government threw mud at Huawei, accusing their powerful surveillance function might harm US national security.
I don't quite agree with Professor Sachs on this because I know for sure that Huawei spyware issues are realistic and practical.
He doubted if either Trump or Biden can save the world from the Cuban missile crisis as calmly as JFK did.
He criticized the American dangerous Taiwan Policy, warning the tentative military confrontation might jeopardize our precious Globalization process.

Truth be told, I heard very little of Professor Sachs.
The moment I finished his speech, I felt dizzy, blank, and confused.
You know, just as Ye Wenjie saw the warning message from 1379.
After a few Google and Wiki, I was like "Wo Cao!"
The American think tank was formalizing an agency or bureau or division or whatever they name it, they were setting up a Strategic Fool-You Agency as the Chinese did a few years before.
In Chinese, it's 假痴不颠, while in English, it's 'Fake it till you make it'.

Professor Sachs definitely is not Ye Wenjie, who promised Trisolarian:
Come here! I will help you conquer this world. 
Our civilization is unable to solve our own problems. 
We need your force to intervene.

Professor Sachs is Yun Tianmin, who was 'sent only brain' to his enemy.

In 2019, conducting an interview with New Yorkers, Liu Cixin shared his opinion of the Chinese Uyghurs policy.
“Would you rather that they are hacking away at bodies at train stations and schools in terrorist attacks? If anything, the government is helping their economy and trying to lift them out of poverty,” Liu said, adding: “If you were to loosen up the country a bit, the consequences would be terrifying.”
Five Republican senators said they had“significant concerns with Netflix's decision to do business with an individual who is parroting dangerous CCP propaganda”.
That's the American smell most people are familiar with.

Earlier this year, conducting an interview with New Yorkers, Professor Sachs boldly endorsed Liu Cixin that "The term 'genocide' is mistaken in relation to the repression of the Uyghurs in China".
Genocide? 
In the book, Ye Wenjie and ETO led the Human Purification Plan.
In reality, the Han people's birth rate is declining heavily mainly because of the radical Feminist Movement in China.
Meanwhile, Uyghurs' birth rate was 27% more than Han's.

Professor Sachs seems so supportive, but why do I still hold it's merely an American 'good cop, bad cop' trick?
Why so obsessed?

In 1989, Sachs succeeded to help the economic transition of Poland. 
Based on Poland's success, his advice was valued by Soviet President Gorbachev and by his successor, Russian President Yeltsin, on the transition of the USSR/Russia to a market economy.
Poland asked IMF to get some money, which is the key.
IMF won't do the same favor for Russia, which is understandable.
Poland is the bait, and Russia is the fish.

I'm nobody, I can't give Professor Sachs any advice.
But I want to share a story that happened in the Warring State period.
I understand Professor Sachs is a big fan of Chinese history, so maybe he should be familiar with it too.

Back then, there are nine schools of thought trying to save the world.
The school of Diplomacy advocates pragmatism and realism.
Su Qin, one of the most famous Diplomacy Scholars, persuaded the leaders of the six kingdoms of Qi, Chu, Yan, Han, Zhao, and Wei to unite against the Qin state through his splendid speech.
For the first time in world history, the combination of dictatorship and democracy, Su Qin became the premieres of the six states.
Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.

EP9: Hello, Miss Googolaire
Hello, my friends!

In this episode we will continue with what we left, the Law and Money topic.
First and foremost, the title, what is Googolaire? Is that even a word?
No, it's a coined word by myself.
I am not sure if you heard about the Google startup story.
Here is the most widespread version: 
When one of Google's co-founders was trying to register the Internet domain name, "Googol" was accidentally misspelled as "Google".
Googol is such a large number, which means 10 to the power of 100, written as the digital one followed by 100 zero.
In modern program language, the long integer upper limit is 2 to the power of 32 minus 1, which is much much less than Google.
Usually, we call Elon Musk, and Bill Gates a billionaire, because their net assets shall be accounted with the basic unit billion.
But in our novel, there were somebody's assets billions of billions of times more than our today's billionaires, and that somebody is our heroine, Cheng Xin.
Why's that? 
Let's start with what we left in the last episode, Milton Friedman's paper, The Island of Stone Money.

Federated States of Micronesia is an island country in Oceania and Yap State is one of four states of Western Micronesia.
After the Germans purchased the Yap islands from the Spanish in 1898, they want to spend their German Mark to hire the residents to repair the footpaths.
But Yap islanders don't see the value of German paper, so they refused the labor request.

The Frenchmen never got a physical delivery, only some numbers update on the accounting books.
The gold in underground vaults of the Federal Reserve Bank was equivalent to the Yap Islands stone money on the seabed.
Friedman got 3 apprentices as the Chairman of FED, Paul Volcker, Alan Greenspan, and Ben Bernanke.
Monetarism, generally speaking, was trying to help the FED to make sure every dollar can always buy one share of X commodity that one dollar should have bought, in the long run.
That is, to stabilize the US Dollar's purchasing power.
In other words, to stabilize the domestic Big Mac Index.
By what measure can they achieve that stability?
To calculate the underlying inflation and dance with wolves.
How to dance?
Friedman's K-percent rule, meaning to allow the central bank to increase their expected money supply by K percent.
The FED was not perfect on K, only 108 times to raise the Debt Ceiling.
And all China can complain about was "Have you eaten?".

《六祖坛经》中，六祖慧能曾谈起与五祖弘忍的师传，我们对照来看。

太史简，董狐笔，春秋笔法，微言大谊。
乌追兔赶，玄武去病，天地驰骋英雄气。
金乌心火，主元神；玉兔肾水，主元炁；龟蛇盘结性命坚，主元精。
正所谓化二还一：炼精化气，炼气化神，炼神还虚。

我们开始捋章北海的故事线，再谈典故和意象。
话说叶文洁的只言片语如同拼图，罗辑心中大概有数，但毕竟兹事体大。
稳妥起见，他的决定测试最后一块拼图，一个向恒星发出的诅咒。
ETO的基因导弹命中，罗辑刚好就坡下驴，入眠静待诅咒生效。
直到185年后被唤醒，他以为是告诉他咒语生效的好消息，实际上PDC是让罗辑去反省，让他看看自己动用资源去发射什么咒语这件事到底有多离谱。
增援未来的章北海，也在这一刻被PDC唤醒，意图让这些公元人见识见识所谓的The Moment of Truth。
黑暗战役中，黑暗森林法则在太阳系的两端同时生效。
PDC反躬自省，再次核查罗辑咒语的对象，发现小丑竟是我自己。
罗辑面壁者身份恢复，主线剧情回归。
我们这里专门探讨这段黑暗战役的支线剧情。

首先一个重大的设定是，高度道德化的社会主流思潮对逃亡主义的追杀。
所谓逃亡主义，本质在是"电车悖论"中，将功利主义者推至极端的设想。
压死一个和压死十个，按照圣母心的观点，就是不能改变物体原先运动的方向，然后开追悼会。
一切都是最好的安排或者永垂不朽或者永远活在心中。
逃亡主义是两害相权取其轻，固然是思想钢印，圣母们秉持的难道不也是另一种思想钢印吗？
ETO背后的运作，就是确保在安理会上，圣母们的思想钢印能够占据上风，从而顺利通过对逃亡主义者追杀的《特别联大117号决议案》。

与此同时，章北海与病榻之上的父亲，进行了如下的对话。
要多想。
想了之后呢？
北海呀，我只能告诉你，那以前，要多想。
禅宗很重要的一个法门是参话头，也就是话头禅。
章父口中的"那以前"三个字，很明显就是上面说的话头禅。
哪些故弄玄虚的"听懂掌声"，则被斥为口头禅。
所以像这类托钵卖惨的，您该Cancel赶紧Cancel掉！
说回来，"那以前"这三个字应该怎么参？
我们看原文描写章北海离开病房的心理活动：
处于一块金色光斑中的驱逐舰艰难地把舰首从深深的浪谷中抬起来，在一声轰然的巨响中，舰首撞穿一道浪墙，腾起的漫天浪沫贪婪地吸收着夕阳的金光，像一只大鹏展开了金光四射的巨翅……
章北海戴上军帽，帽檐上有中国太空军的军徽。他在心里说：爸爸，我们想的一样，这是我的幸运。
我不会带给您荣耀，但会让您安息。
所以说"那一天"，就是鲲鹏"怒而飞"的时刻。
那以前，他必须加入大合唱，让自己也狂热起来。
唯此才能有机会去增援未来。

接下来，他被唤醒，成为了"自然选择号"的执行舰长。
东方延绪交出了手枪，密码，仰慕以及爱意。
Men always remember love because of romance only.
但亮剑时刻的到来，他命令全舰人员进入深海状态。
空气中弥漫着Marlboro Man的荷尔蒙。
东方，我说过，如果不得不杀了你，我很抱歉。时间不多了。
照他说的做，全舰进入深海状态。
北冥水，深海陷。前进四，青釭剑。怀少主，冲破南天门界。
"自然选择"号以百分之一的光速航行在木星与土星轨道之间。
追击它的，有"蓝色空间号"，"终极规律号"，"企业号"和"深空号"。
一个时辰后，水滴用三十分钟上演了两千响的爆竹秀。
除了提前烧胎起步的"量子号"和"青铜时代号"，北洋太空师全军覆没。

大伙儿都服了，受您指挥啊，向您致敬啊，这就都来了。
章北海的就职演说只表达了一个意思。
我们独立了，必须和母星心理上断奶。
军官们明面上不说，背地里就炸了锅了。
好家伙，这不就是1884年"理查德帕克"一案中，科林斯大律师(Queen's Counselor)写给吃人船员们的辩护词吗？
一个远离大陆，漂流了25天的团体，可被视为已经的脱离了女王的治下。
那时的他们，身处黑暗森林，被魔王所试探，霹雳手段之外，因显菩萨心肠。
一句话，判其死刑，马上加以赦免。
毕竟是大律师，都没上绞刑架。
《三体3》中，"青铜时代号"军官们所经受的庭审，就是1884年这个案件的翻版。

受小说销量影响，章北海被设定为在他准备着手之时，在和东方延绪的告别中，贻误战机，葬身南冥。
"自然选择号"的人工智能判定也非常的耐人寻味。
其逻辑是：既然我舰将在几秒内被毁，安安静静的死就好。
也就是说，这个AI从未设定过"确保同时摧毁MAD"的指令。
这和引力波发射器是否启动的那一场票决，两艘舰艇所有官兵一致决定要MAD形成非常强烈的反差。
方舟才逃圣母泪，兄弟又入猜疑链。都一样，冷箭祭热肠，心凛冽。

《我的三体》虽然有些地方改编的不太合理，但毕竟是有"异化三体"的衬托。
尽管如此，希望你们百尺竿头更进一步，谨提两点意见：
第一，这个"星舰地球"在原著中从来没有被称之为一个纪元，这个设定是有原因的。
正式的纪元，是以当前阶段的主要危机，以及解决手段来命名的，比如：
危机纪元找面壁者应对危机，
威慑纪元找持剑人应对危机，
广播纪元等三体坐标被高等文明接受并MAD，
掩体纪元是等曲率飞船的研发成功。
这四个纪元，可以被人理解，且传承有序。
如果把"星舰地球"做为一个纪元，其目的是什么？答不上吧？
不光如此，在时间线上再做分叉，会导致阅读体验不好。
这是其一。
其二是，给章北海设定了个美国大兵的身份确认牌，俗称狗牌，合适吗？
整个三体都没怎么提美军，这难道是巧合吗？
希望《我的三体》主创以后再做改编的时候，注意分析文本，站稳民族立场。

接下来谈谈典故。
P2最后一句，提到了岳飞是金翅大鹏鸟，这源于《说岳全传》。
古典小说，塑造主人公的时候都喜欢往天上倒。
比如：西游，红楼，水浒，三国，封神，七侠五义什么的。
《说岳》中，是把岳飞岳鹏举的名字，和凤凰浴火重生联系起来，希望汉族士兵能武运长存。
《三体2》中，舰队司令对章北海的战略性撤离定性为叛乱。
还试图用朝鲜战争中，中美硬碰硬的战史，感化并找回章北海，这与"十二道金牌"的典故遥相呼应。
章政委正色道，我爷爷被"潘兴"坦克轧断过双腿！
你爹我比你小丫挺的更知道所谓的战争是怎么回事儿。
另借岳元帅《满江红》来奠章政委，祭其神，招其魂。
宋人曾评价金人＂人如虎,马如龙,上山如猿,下水如濑＂，仗岳家军骁勇尚可一战。
而三体对地球文明的差距，根本不能等量齐观。
站在中华史观，女真为燕云十六州之侵略者，是要＂虽远必诛＂的。
反之来看，宋人皇族，治国无方，扰民有数，北有宋江，南有方腊，我代表月亮消灭你！
以性剥削为例，一管而窥全豹：
女真倡导一夫一妻，主少国疑之时，母后代政，妇女能顶半边天。
靖康之变，金人南下，徽宗火线禅位于钦宗。
开封城破，战争赔款要求黄金500万两，白银5000万两。
徽宗的性伙伴有六千佳丽，钦宗开动他的小脑瓜灵机一动，赔了五千宫女。
金人尽数全收，但退回两千人，说没干爽，再补足两千人。
被掳至苦寒之窑，徽宗也曾如李后主李煜伤春悲秋：
九叶鸿基一旦休，猖狂不听直臣谋。
甘心万里为降虏，故国悲凉玉殿休。
悲则悲矣，但这不妨碍官家行＂牵羊礼＂后，还能继续造出六男八女。
完颜宗弼登高一呼＂消灭汉人暴政，中国属于大金＂，这个正义感宛如ETO。
金人先被蒙元所灭，宋人稍后被灭。
蒙金野狐岭，宋元襄阳城。
光粒灭三体，二向箔江山入画。
岳元帅未死于沙场，反被高宗赵构黑暗森林心理所害，这与章北海的经历如出一辙。
只不过这一世的轮回，章北海未被舰队司令所构陷，而是＂终极规律号＂，我愿称之为＂秦刽＂。
因之，上阕末尾，我写"鹏举变"。
意犹未尽啊，意犹未尽！
字数少还是说不透，之后做个番外篇铺开了说。

P3中，青釭剑和少主，说的是赵子龙怀抱阿斗长坂坡七进七出的故事。
来一小段灌口，感受一下文字的速度感。
自从桃园结义以来，大爷姓刘名备字玄德，家住大树楼桑；
二弟姓关名羽字云长，家住山西蒲州解良县；
三弟姓张名飞字翼德，家住涿州范阳郡。
后续四弟，姓赵名云字子龙，家住真定府常山县，百战百胜，后称常胜将军。
皆只因长坂坡前一场鏖战，那赵云单枪匹马闯入曹营，砍倒大纛两杆，夺槊三条，马落陷坑，是堪堪废命。
中间一段是徐庶劝曹操收伏赵云，直接掠过。
那赵云一仗怀揣幼主，二仗常胜将军之特勇，杀了个七进七出，这才闯出重围。
《八扇屏》里面没有提到，赵云能杀出重围的主要原因是，挑死夏侯恩，夺其青釭剑所产生的心理震慑。
而这把青釭剑，就暗合东方延续接受审查时，交出的口令:
Men always remember love because of romance only.

最后，与其说是典故不如说是新闻，是关于南天门计划。
2022年11月珠海航展，在中航工业的展台上展示了这个颇具科幻气息的"南天门计划"。
太空机甲名字比较有趣，大型战略空天载机平台叫"鸾鸟"，空天战机叫"玄女”，战术机器人叫"承影"。
上面这些是只落在纸面上的，当天实际展出的是名为"白帝"的战机，如图所示。
这个计划的名字为什么是"南天门"？
《西游记》认为，既然唐帝国处于南赡部洲，那么齐天大圣上天搬救兵理应是直上直下的。
听下来，南天门计划是一个中国人主导的太空防御计划，暗合两千艘太空战列舰。
章政委认为，防不住，根本防不住，事不宜迟，必须马上进行战略转移。
强渡大渡河，飞夺泸定桥，是损兵折将；爬雪山，过草地，是节衣缩食。
星舰文明不过是光年尺度下中国近代史的折射。
上面情节，载于《三体2》中。
在《三体3》中，地球人"十二道金牌"诱召"青铜时代号"。
在法官对洛文斯基的审讯记录中，有记载"青铜时代号"军官吃"量子号"军官的情节。
餐前不感谢主，改感谢乔伊娜了？
红军路上，我们的战士们吃的是皮带，可不是理查德帕克。

最后谈谈意象。
刘慈欣对章北海的军旅规划，基本参照《逍遥游》为蓝本。
北冥有鱼，其名为鲲。鲲之大，不知其几千里也；
化而为鸟，其名为鹏。鹏之背，不知其几千里也；
这两句预示了章政委从海军到太空军的军旅历程。
怒而飞，其翼若垂天之云。
是鸟也，海运则将徙于南冥。
南冥者，天池也。
从北冥到南冥，母星地球与星舰地球天人两隔。
与其见，不如不见，再见已势同水火。

章北海这个人物，在中文作品中，是非常另类的存在。
毕竟中华文化中，一个通过劫持而实现救赎的反英雄不符合主流价值。
为解决这个冲突，在这里我要谈文化史上非常重要的两个人，一窥章北海的精神内核。
这一段我愿称之为：真人逍遥，菩萨自在。
徐宏祖，号霞客，生于万历，死于崇祯，南直隶江阴人。
朝碧海而暮苍梧，逍遥山水间。
王守仁，号阳明，生于成化，死于嘉靖，浙江省余姚人。
格万物而致良知，自在书斋中。

先从徐霞客的潇洒谈起。
总体来说，他是中华文化史上非常奇特的一个人。
一生"粪土当年万户侯"，根本不愿意搭理科举这个茬。
为啥？我们把时间稍微往回倒一点。
元至顺二年，施耐庵和刘伯温，同榜进士得中。
刘伯温自不待言，被神话的不要不要的。
施耐庵则是明珠暗投，跟了张士诚。
施公眼瞅着张士诚"臭棋乱飞相"，不甘陪绑，辞官隐居写《水浒》去也。
在哪儿隐居的？徐霞客九世祖徐麒家中，麒麟的麒。

后经刘伯温引荐，九世祖入朝为官，领命疏通川蜀地区。
为什么是四川？所谓"天下未乱蜀先乱，天下已定蜀未定"。
蜀人抗元可谓壮怀激烈，一座钓鱼城，可说的，该说的太多，我们番外再聊。
事成，太祖再赐十万亩良田，领一品朝服衣锦还乡。
但是我们这位爷回到南京后，发行自己比较嫌弃官场的繁文缛节，索性给太祖打报告要回家照顾产业。
太祖稍作挽留，旋即朱批准奏。
徐麒再见施公，这落魄书生住在深宅大院，倒有点像是行者武松投奔柴大官人，终有一散。
徐家祖业至徐霞客一辈绵延两百载。
虽然进的少出的多，毕竟也是瘦死的骆驼，不愿意上秤。
有钱是一个原因，另一个是科举受挫。

弘治十一年，唐寅于应天府高中解元，意气风发，笔锋直至来年三元连中。
徐霞客十三世祖徐经是唐寅的小迷弟，平日里就好个面子。
别家进京赶考，您参考《倩女幽魂》的宁采臣。
咱这二位爷，是带着昆曲儿班子，丹青泼墨，作对吟诗，互称年兄，是不知今夕何夕。
春闱三日，二人奋笔疾书如砍瓜切菜。
试毕，是花酒度日，静待佳音。
一探得知名落孙山之外，二探是五花大绑如大闸蟹一般。
此案疑窦丛生，纵是李东阳主审，历史上也落得个葫芦僧乱判糊涂案的恶名。
当下二人被革去功名，永不续用。
徐经不死心，余生为求平反奔走呼号，反落得个客死他乡。
唐寅这边，祝枝山出来力挺他的伯虎兄弟，大骂徐经是个成事不足的狗肉朋友。
反观唐寅本人，桃花坞里桃花庵，桃花庵里桃花仙。
后续宁王座上宾，洞穿其反意，不愿立危墙之下，如宋江般裸奔装疯。
别人笑我太疯癫，我笑他人看不穿。
弘治十二年这两位爷的同年考友王阳明，早已是扶摇直上，生擒宁王于鄱阳湖，封伯爵，追侯爵，谥文成。

父亲早亡，母亲打理生意，有钱有闲的徐霞客就好像在《仙剑奇侠1》里的李逍遥。
科举？那不过是"使天下英豪尽入皇帝之彀"的把戏！
我要当大侠！
Duang！吃我李大娘一平底儿锅！Duang！Duang！
二十六岁跑到天台山写游记，因后人推算当日为阳历五月十九，胡哥将5.19钦定为"中国旅游日"。
此后就一发而不可收拾，侠客立志"大丈夫当朝碧海而暮苍梧"。
成为旅行家的前提是，有脚力，有盘缠，会攀谈，敢蹭饭，能辩天气，能识草药，总之和李逍遥打怪升级差不多。
碰到强盗全身而退，遇见猛兽安然无恙。
找钱谦益这号人能伸手化缘，身后还得给我开碑立传。
东北战事吃紧? 莫谈国事！西游去也！
给纳西族土司儿子讲汉地风云，闲坐静听纳西人口中的藏传佛法。
彩云之南归去的地方
往事芬芳随风飘扬
蝴蝶泉边歌声在流淌
泸沽湖畔心仍荡漾
风水爱好者挺奇怪，大侠行万里路，著万卷书，怎么偏偏没留下堪舆著作？
260万的文字，兵荒马乱仅余60万，诸君且看且珍惜！
整个《徐霞客游记》里面，《滇游日记》就占了近一半的篇幅。
所以云南本地的朋友注意了，读一读能增强民族自信心！
到云南旅游的朋友们，追许红豆打卡之外，也可以读读书哦！

汉张骞出使西域，未见昆仑之雄伟。
唐玄奘衔太宗命，未见西湖之秀美。
岳武穆盼归河山，未见恒山悬空寺。
马三宝七下西洋，未见曲阜之三孔。
不过人家穆斯林应该也不太在乎这个。
有诗为证：
逍遥少年上征途，朝至碧海暮苍梧。
万里崎岖不辞苦，不近庙堂远江湖。

儒以文乱法，侠以武犯禁。
既然你PDC食古不化，别怪我北海逍遥游。
这个逍遥和美国人口中的自由还很不一样。
自由是弥赛亚信仰下反抗压迫的《出埃及记》。
逍遥是尊重天平两端的客观差距，敢于瞒天过海将火种劫持至光年之外的孤勇。
《明朝那些事儿》最后一节，是以徐霞客结尾。

我们再说王阳明。
不同于徐霞客，阳明子的科普书相当多，我们因繁就简，剪断截说。
这里稍微提两个人，北宋张载，南宋朱熹。
张载，陕西关中横渠人，喜《周易》，好《中庸》，创关学。
与周敦颐，邵雍，程颐，程颢并称北宋五子。
牛到以地称人的牛人虽不多，但张横渠绝对算一号。
为天地立心，为生民立命，为往圣继绝学，为万世开太平。
这横渠四句是万古流芳。
再说朱文正公。
熹这个字，是炽热的意思。
那么朱熹的字面意思，是说红色的光，发出炽热的烈焰。
朱老夫子聊发少年狂，戏称自己为"紫阳先生", 硬蹭"紫阳真人"张伯端。

朱熹在学理方面不喜欢张载，而且相比《中庸》，他更偏好《大学》。
《大学》的三纲八目，内圣外王，论证严密，颇有《资本论》的范儿。
这八目为：格物，致知，诚意，正心；修身，齐家，治国，平天下。
修齐治平为王道，是四个不断递进的同心圆，简洁，漂亮。
但格致诚这个内圣的过程，王阳明认为顺序搞反了。
不应该从格物穷理到心随幡动，而应该从心外无物到心同此理。
所以，王阳明先Respect张载，再Diss朱熹，"四句教"呼之欲出：
无善无恶心之体，有善有恶意之动；
知善知恶是良知，为善去恶是格物。
这四句相当于把格致诚正180度反者说了一遍。
假传万卷书，真传一页纸。
只见这纸上不过十个字：破山中贼易，破心中贼难。
这心中之贼，恰恰是威海卫战役中，民间报人"跟丫日本人死磕"的起哄。
老太后拍脑袋说兄弟们干了！呕！
康党拍大腿说丢雷楼某黑！
北洋人拍着棺材板子哭丧着说：她下飞机了！我操嘞！

单说一个知字，行自在其外；单说一个行字，知自在其内。
知兵者说不可行，行者又不自知，悲剧啊！
说回王阳明，有诗为证：
自在老叟为书痴，万物格罢致良知。
慎独一生传习录，先爱真理后拜师。
王阳明的精神，体现在章北海身上就是：
1，不看浪花，只算潮汐，透过偶然看必然，用未来史学指导现在。
2，结论的得出，不唯上，不唯亲，不唯众，只唯实。
3，我是我内心中唯一的圣人。要多想，要敢想，要在意念中无数次执行那一刻的劫持，无数次批判自己的怯懦，无数次对自己提出道义性指责，无数次告诉自己要谋定而后动，要记得知行合一。

第三节，平凡之路
其实第一次看原文的时候，看到章北海被写死，我觉得还行。
心想，最后一本肯定得写章政委的前传。
前两部是2008年出的，第三部是2010年出的。
苦等两年之后，刘大师居然把时间轴倒回去新开人物也没有再提章北海。
其自述的原因是，销量不行就是不识货，既然不识货，把英雄写死吧。
近些年随着年纪渐长，结合党史回头再看这对父子，我逐渐理解了刘大师的安排。
他确已在无花果树下立地成佛。

08年到10年期间发生了一件极其重要的事件，09年的哥本哈根气候大会。
中国决定走可持续发展道路，换句话说，火电站要凉啊！
South Park 的一个网络迷因就是"They took our jobs"!
Indeed, without jobs people sobs.
在一次小群讨论中，大家聊嗨了，有人一语道破，这个程心的原型不就是和丁仲礼对线的柴静吗？
眨巴个眼睛，揣着明白装糊涂！
这也让我有在前面用"七宗罪"试着揣度刘慈欣在写原著时候的心情。
贱卖张番番版权的时候，他给《三体》的估值才十万块。
他是多瞧不起大家为仰望星空，有可能能筹集到的赎罪券的数量啊？
既然能人无法掌控历史的发展趋势，那就让熊人掌控星环城和DX3906！

但大刘毕竟是个凡人，科幻热起来前，也要围着柴米油盐酱醋茶转。
你我皆凡人 生在人世间 终日奔波苦 一刻不得闲
既然不是仙 难免有杂念 道义放两旁 利字摆中间
继续说故事：
掩体纪元67年，银河系猎户旋臂，是歌者的大致方位，如图。
宇宙尺度上，其实歌者也算得上是我们的邻居。
文化上来看：
古埃及人以猎户座腰带三连星为蓝本，建造了金字塔阵列。
基督教认为，伯利恒面圣的三博士，是猎户座腰带三连星的象征。
蜀地广汉郡，龙泉西麓下，都江堰流处，三星伴月堆。
日月盈昃，辰宿列张，参为白虎，三星直者，是为衡石。
衡石者，天降伟力，人生大才，或曰准则，又称法度。
科学上来看，猎户座，被宇宙学家誉为生命的摇篮，是名副其实的“造星工厂”。
以上均为将歌者位置设定为猎户座某处的合理性。

清华教授吴国盛曾言，"三体受追捧让他大跌眼镜，金庸小说才是中国科幻"。
2021年，吴教授在许知远的《十三邀》中，还加了一句"外星人不就是鬼"？
腾讯主创倒是让史强警官调侃了一下这个问题，但没有正面回答。
在《三体3》中，刘慈欣透过一个卑微的歌者回答了这个问题。
这位歌者及其文明，被设定为一个卑微的清洁工。

歌者同很多网络工程师一样，喜欢一边哼歌，一边工作。
网络运维中心，Network Operation Center，简称NOC，是复杂网络架构中必备的职能部门。
NOC的监控工程师，专门对网元健康度进行监测，以确保不同级别的风险能在有效响应时间内，将风险点提升至相应的服务等级，并对所有追踪问题做闭环管理。
这个角色，1379号监听员做过，刘慈欣显然做过，我也短暂的做过。

合格的NOC工程师的第一课，就是必须正确领会"铁路警察，各管一段"的精髓。
让我们回到原文：
至于这意义之塔的更高端，不要去想，想也想不出什么来，还有危险，
更不用说意义之塔的塔顶了，可能根本没有塔顶。

合格的NOC工程师的第二课，专业技能过硬，目光要在事实与模型间来回穿梭，并给出合理推测。
地球与三体在九个颗粒时间中，歌者发现来自地球的自解译系统的首次请求报文，以及三次握手的建立。
紧接着，歌者发现来自"万有引力号"非常"有诚意"的坐标广播。
最后，歌者发现三体星系在三十五个颗粒时间之前，有已被清理的迹象。
歌者的最初反应是：
他决定清理一下，反正现在也没有更多的事情可做，这事也不影响他正唱着的歌谣。
他判断错了也没关系，清理就是这样，不是一件精确的工作，不要求绝对准确。
这也不是急迫的工作，早晚做了就行。
这也是这一岗位地位低的原因。
歌者的最终推测是：
这一连串事件构成了一个不祥的图景，昭示着危险。
这部分展现了在IT系统的实际运维过程中，对所谓"异常"的判断。
常态，我们可以通过举例子，打比方的方式去进行所谓的"定义"。
然而，我们说，这样的归纳，容易有漏。
那么实操中，应该怎么定义"异常"呢？
简单来说，就是"依法不依人"。
也就是说，刨除个人好恶，查询之前预定义的规程，一般来说，总会有兜底条款。
假如找到兜底条款，Just Do IT！不管这个兜底条款多么的不合理！
如果没找到兜底条款，责任推给顶头上司，That's how IT works!

合格的NOC工程师的第三课，就是学会"藏好自己，做好清理"的这条规则。

我们将信息不完全的现象，称之为见鬼。
歌者同样将资源不支持仔细观察的现象，称之为见鬼。
结合本次风险降级事件，我们似乎可以得到这样的结论：
所以，现象有可能是鬼，外星人可能被当作鬼。
但外星人绝对不是鬼！
这是个基于集合论的基本论断。
话说回来，建国之后，桌椅板凳都不让成精，遑论外星人成鬼乎？

CLEP，China Lunar Exploration Project，中国探月工程，又叫嫦娥工程，于2004年立项，预计2024年结项。
